Get involved
There are a number of different ways you can get involved in research, this can range from taking part in a study as a research participant right through to working with the team to design and carry out new research ideas.
If you are interested in participating in a research study feel free to contact us to discuss whether any of the projects we are currently working on would be suitable for you to take part in.
If you are interested in new research and would like to have a say, People powered prosthetics has an INVOLVE group for limb wearers who would like to help inform and design the research we undertake and we are always interested in meeting new people.
The INVOLVE group helps us to understand the reality of life as a limb wearer and identify priority areas for future research, whether that be for student projects or larger funded studies. They get involved with designing and informing new research projects, applying for funding, ensuring study information is easy to understand and whether each project is likely to be suitable and easy for people with limb loss to take part in.
Wherever we can we try to ensure that our projects include funding to support people getting involved with research work. This may be in the form of costs to cover travel, or to pay for people’s time, but it is down to each individual whether to use this funding or not.
